Questions to ask when choosing an Accuride Drawer Slide

What sort of environment will the slide be in? What load will it carry? Are there any special features you need?
 

Where will you use the slide?

Steel Accuride Drawer Slides work for most applications in products like tool chests or shop fittings. If the slides will end up outdoors, in medical environments or in food preparation environments stainless steel is a better option.
 

 

The 9308E and 9301E are heavy duty slides and the 9308 has lock in/lock out feature. We sell them singly so you can buy one of each for a cost effective solution. The drawers in your vehicle will stay shut while you are driving around but are easy to use when you need them. If you want a slide that won’t rust, on a boat or in a van conversion for instance, choose a stainless steel slide.

The 0522 Heavy Duty Drawer Slides incorporate Shock Blocks. These help to protect the Drawer Slides and the components on the slides in the closed position. So these Accuride Drawer Slides are a good choice for use in vehicles or wherever vibration is an issue.

 

How much weight will the slide carry?

The Accuride Drawer Slides classes are Light Duty - up to 50kg, Medium Duty – 51-99kg or Heavy Duty – 100kg+.  The load rating is clearly shown on the Components Direct product pages. Remember, flat mounting reduces the load rating and this is also shown on the page.
 

How far do you need the drawer to pull out?

Accuride produces slides that extend 75%, 100% extension and even some that pull out more than 100%. If you need to remove the drawer, to clean it for instance, choose Accuride Lever Disconnect.
 

 

Opening and closing

There are lots of applications that need more than just simple open and close drawers. Accuride has every likely option covered.

Hold-out and lock-out slides are often specified for reasons of safety and efficiency. Touch release drawers don’t need a handle that protrudes from the front of the drawer. This means items like mobile tool chests can be flush fronted and you can open them quickly and easily. There are even slides that lock in and lock out.

Some customers combine a lock-in/lock-out slide with a standard slide so you only have to operate the lever on one side of the unit.

A self-close drawer slide closes the slide and prevents bounce back. A soft-close drawer slide slows the closing action and both prevent slamming. This can extend the life of the slide, reduce noise in the work place and protect fragile components or drawer contents.

If you need to open a drawer from either side of an island, tool chest or even from adjoining rooms you can use Two-Way slides. A Two-Way slide can feature hold-out or lock-out features.
